Framed oil painting of a lone tree on a rocky shore overlooking the ocean.
Oil / 8×10.5 framed / SOLD

This lone fir tree grows on the south shore of Squirrel Island, an island in the Gulf of Maine off of Boothbay Harbor. I pass this tree on my morning walk around the island and always think of it as keeping a lookout – gazing toward The Cuckolds Light in the distance. Cuckolds Light Station is a lighthouse located on the eastern pair of islets known as the “Cuckolds” just off the southern tip of Cape Newagen on Southport Island, the tip of which is also in view in the very very very far distance.
