I completed a very special commission recently, one that captures a quiet moment where early morning light and color breathe life into a familiar place. Against a backdrop of autumn foliage, a pair of white Adirondack chairs anchor the scene, inviting stillness and pause. The painting holds a favorite view at its peak, a simple refuge where the changing season settles in and time slows just enough to welcome rest, creating a quiet stage for my two musician friends.

“Martin Coryell House - A Timeless Welcome” (20x30 in. Oil on canvas) I am so excited to have completed and delivered this commissioned piece to the owners of this beautiful and historic home in Lambertville. The Martin Coryell House, one of Lambertville’s most notable historic properties (circa-1864) once was home to Martin Coryell, a direct descendent of the man who founded Coryell’s Ferry, for whom Lambertville and New Hope, were originally named. #fineart #lambertvillenj #lambertvillehistoricalsociety @historiclambertville @lambertvillehistory #buckscountyartist #oilpainting
I recently finished a painting called "Sunlit Flagstones". It’s a 16 by 12 inch oil that zooms in on a section of a stone walkway. Three large flagstones lead the eye to weathered brick steps and a rustic gate beyond. Allium buds line the path, promising a colorful display. Light and shadow play across the stones and bricks, revealing their textures and history. I wanted to capture the quiet moment when ordinary surfaces feel alive in the sun. NFS

"Songs in the Wind over High Ledge" Oil on 16x12 panel.
Painted en plein air at Quoddy Head State Park, Lubec, ME, looking out over Gulliver`s Hole. As I painted, I heard faint sounds of drumming and singing drifting downwind toward me from High Ledge. Not long afterwards a couple of young Native Americans stopped by. We commented appreciatively on the beauty of eachothers` creative responses to the wonders of Maine`s dramatic coastline. It was a magical afternoon.
