PLEIN AIR PAINTINGS

Painting “En Plein Air” (from the French meaning out-of-doors) is the practice of painting outside in the open air, allowing the artist to capture the natural light, color, and movement of a scene in real-time, and more accurately depict their impression of the environment firsthand. Plein air paintings are typically painted in one sitting, although sometimes minor touch-ups can be added in the studio.
